While going to meet Oliver for lunch, Moira is almost shot by a unknown assailant who manages to kill a man connected to a mob boss by the name of Frank Bertinelli. Oliver runs after the assailant, and is later reprehended by Moira and Thea for leaving Moira in the street after being shot at to ‘get a license plate.’

Tommy continues to try and court Laurel, and makes the bold leap to ask her to go out on a date with him. He also lets Oliver know that the two are going on a date, just so that he doesn’t hear it from someone else. On their date, Tommy’s credit card is declined and confiscated.

Oliver makes a business meeting with Bertinelli to get some intel on him, instead of helping to take care of Moira and dealing with what happened to her. After Bertinelli goes to another business meeting with the Chinese Triad and China White, Oliver goes out to dinner with his daughter, Helena.

While on bed rest against the attack, Moira gets a visit from the unknown associate seen in earlier episodes. After some time away, Walter finally shows back up to be by Moira’s side. It’s later found out that Tommy has been cut off by his father, who turns out to be the unknown associate Moira has been meeting with.

After managing to unmask the unknown assailant who shot the man and harmed Moira, Oliver finds out that it was Helena targeting the men in her father’s family. She admits to Oliver that she blames her father for the death of her fiance, and Oliver and Helena are later kidnapped by Nick Salvati, her father’s right hand man. Nick admits that he killed Helena’s fiance, because they thought he was going to rat to the FBI about Frank’s illegal business.

Helena figures out that Oliver is the vigilante, and she confronts him about their battles being the same. They both hide behind fake smiles and promises, even though their battles are more important.
