Jurassic World comes in at number one again this past weekend at the Box Office, with Mad Max: Fury Road coming in at eighth, and Avenger’s: Age of Ultron coming in at ninth.


John Green announced himself that the movie adaption of his first novel, Looking for Alaska, officially has a Director! The author made the announcement through social media this week, saying that Becca Thomas had been signed on for the highly anticipated movie.


Also in John Green news, fans have the chance to name a character in his (potential) new novel! Fans can bid on the potential naming of a character through a charity auction run by Charitybuzz, with the proceeds going to PEN/Faulkner. The current bid (at the time that I wrote this on Friday, June 26th) was $2,250.


J.K. Rowling released a back story on Pottermore in honour of Dudley Dursley’s birthday this past week, Pottermore added a backstory to Dudley’s parents, Vernon and Petunia. The new information includes the meanings behind their names, and gives a little insight to Vernon’s first meeting with Lily and James while the two are in their final year at Hogwarts.


In other Potter news, Rowling announced this week that there will be a play that tells the story of the Potters life. The played, which will be called Cursed Child, will be a completely new story for fans and Rowling has collaborated with Jack Thorne and the director, John Tiffany.


Recently, there has been a number of release dates for shows that are coming back in the Fall. The Flash will return October 6th, and Arrow will air on October 7th. While Gotham will air the week before on September 21st.

The online magainze, Moviepilot, also released a list of the top 10 shows based on comics they are looking forward to.
